There's nothing special on the disc in terms of protections.

Looks like a bad disc. (Remember, it is very possible for a flawed DVD to play fine in your player.)

Yes. Bad original disc, even if it plays fine or a dying drive

I have tried using 5 diffrent burners and it still locks up around the same place.

I have 2 originals of the Shindlers List movie and both are doing this.

This is the only movie that will not let me back up.

I tried it before and after sp1 and it still will not work.

It will only lock up while reading the disc, not burning it.

Check the dvd with vso inspector if it find errors then it is a bad disc

Then either both are bad (which would not be unusual at all) or you need to use a third party program (or Anydvd's speed control) to try to lower your read speed. There's nothing interesting on these discs with respect to protection.

This movie backed up without any problems. It's been so long ago, I don't even remember which version of ANYDVD, and CLONE DVD I used. Should be a cake walk.
