First post here, please bear with me. I'm thinking of buying this program. I've read the Global FAQ (which has some broken links, including one to "Simple's AnyDVD HD Tutorial" via the link on point 6.)
I understand the gist of how AnyDVD(HD) works, but I'm confused about one thing. I've seen posts here on how the program rips. But do you have to rip the movie to your computer HD, or does the program amend the instructions on the bluray disk itself so that it becomes usable on any bluray player, and the rip to the HD is just an option? Thanks very much. |

No, it's not possible to amend the original physical disc. You can play straight from an original disc with AnyDVD HD running in the background, but you can't physically amend the original disc so that you can then take it to a standalone player and play it back on that. You would need to make a copy of the disc onto a BD-r to be able to do that
