If you were getting read errors before then I suspect you have a borderline disc which you got lucky on reading this time. Blu-rays do not contain structural copy protection, therefore you can always copy the disc even if you don't remove the copy protection. Anytime you get read errors it is always down to either a faulty/dirty disc or a failing drive

I'm amazed why this was not flagged to the BD+ bin a little earlier.
Media is BD+ protected! AACS MKB version 28 Failed to remove BD+, Error 668! The read errors may well be secondary after the BD+ issue gets resolved moved to BD+
