Default AnyDVD Says "No Drive Connected"?

Everytime I install a new version of AnyDVD on my Vista laptop, my DVD drive is disconnected from the system and I get a warning from AnyDVD saying "No DVD drive is detected". I then have to call for tech help from Dell and reconnect the DVD drive. Anyone know what's going on and how I can fix it?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Did you reboot when installing?

click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=1559 and follow the steps (note that step 4 requires that you post information)

Yes, I did reboot. In fact, I unistalled AnyDVD, rebooted, installed, then rebooted again. No dice.

Again, click the link and follow the steps. You do need to provide the information I requested. Also try 6.4.0.1 beta: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...97&postcount=1

Just tried 6.4.0.1. and rebooted. No change. Still "No DVD Drive Detected". Has anyone else experienced this problem with Vista?

Yes, using Vista 64. To fix the problem I had to close AnyDVD and re-open it.

Must be one of those PC setups that got hit? I didn't have this happen on mine? A reboot fixes the issue 99% of the time.

You still haven't provided the information I requested.

Webslinger,
Sorry. I didn't realize what you were asking for. I'm sorry for my lack of computer knowledge, but I can't see where to click to download the program. Thanks for your patience.
