Default Bad things to have in registry's filter list ...

Would it be a good idea to possibly try and make a list of filters, lists found through IMGBurn, that are a good idea to remove?

and put a walkthrough @ top or the bottom?

1. i) Create a backup of your registry: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/?ln=en (scroll down and click the link for Vista or 7 instructions)
ii) Download imgburn. It's a free program: http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
(it's also an excellent program imo)
iii) Go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order. Select "ASAPIW2k". Click "Remove Selected Filter". Click "ok".
iv) Reboot

Whatever program installed that filter will no longer work properly.

kinda a self help filter guide.

i.e.

Okay, I kind of have a list over at http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=1307 (#6) . . .

But I'll add filters here when I remember to.

DLACDBHM (System32\Drivers\DLACDBHM.SYS), Version: 9.5.2.0 (1.0.0.1)
Company: Roxio
Copyright: Copyright © 2006 Roxio
Description: Shared Driver Component
FileVersion: 9.05.02a

Those are Roxio/Sonic's Drive Letter Access filters (packet writing software).
Bad news

InCDPass (system32\drivers\InCDPass.sys), Version: 5.5.3.1 (5.5.3.1)
Company: Nero AG
Product: InCD
Copyright: Copyright 2007 Nero AG and its licensors
Description: Ahead RW Filter Driver
Trademarks: InCD is a trademark of Nero AG
FileVersion: 5, 5, 3, 1
ProductVersion: 5, 5, 3, 1

incdrm (system32\drivers\InCDRm.sys), Version: 5.5.3.1 (5.5.3.1)
Company: Nero AG
Product: InCD Reader
Copyright: Copyright 2007 Nero AG and its licensors
Description: Nero MRW Filter Driver
Trademarks: InCD is a trademark of Nero AG
FileVersion: 5, 5, 3, 1
ProductVersion: 5, 5, 3, 1

I've found mostly Version 4.x of Incd causes nothing but problems and conflicts with Anydvd and Clonedvd, so . . .

Cdr4_xp (system32\drivers\Cdr4_xp.sys), Version: 8.0.0.212 (8.0.0.212)
Company: Sonic Solutions
Product: Drag-to-Disc
Copyright: Copyright (c) 1994-2005 Sonic Solutions
Description: CDR4 CD and DVD Place Holder Driver (see PxHelp)
FileVersion: 8.0.0.212
ProductVersion: 8.0.0.212

Cdralw2k (system32\drivers\Cdralw2k.sys), Version: 8.0.0.212 (8.0.0.212)
Company: Sonic Solutions
Product: Drag-to-Disc
Copyright: Copyright (c) 1994-2005 Sonic Solutions
Description: CDRAL Place Holder Driver (see PxHelp)
FileVersion: 8.0.0.212
ProductVersion: 8.0.0.212

Sonic's Drag to Disc packet writing software

pwd_2k (system32\drivers\pwd_2k.sys), Version: 5.3.2.34 (5.3.2.34)
Company: Roxio
Product: DirectCD
Copyright: Copyright (c) 2001,2002, Roxio, Inc.
Description: Win2000 Framework for Packet Write Driver
FileVersion: 5.3.2.34
ProductVersion: 5.3.2.34

Cdralw2k (system32\drivers\Cdralw2k.sys), Version: 5.3.2.34 (5.3.2.34)
Company: Roxio
Product: DirectCD
Copyright: Copyright (c) 2001,2002, Roxio, Inc.
Description: CDRAL for Windows 2000 Kernel Driver
FileVersion: 5.3.2.34
ProductVersion: 5.3.2.34

Direct CD packet writing software

Filter Name: NTIDrvr
File Name: C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\NTIDrvr.sys
File Version: 1, 0, 0, 6 [1.0.0.6]
File Description: NTI CD-ROM Filter Driver
Product Name:
Product Version: 1, 0, 0, 6 [1.0.0.6]
Company Name: NewTech Infosystems, Inc.
Copyright: Copyright (C) 2002 NewTech Infosystems, Inc.

Typically, I think NTI's Filecd, which is packet writing software installs that filter

Filter Name: MxlW2k
File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Drivers\MxlW2k.sys
File Version: 1.1.0.121
File Description: MusicMatch Access Layer KMD
Product Name: MusicMatch Access Layer
Product Version: 1.1.0.121
Company Name: MusicMatch, Inc.
Copyright: Copyright © 2000 MusicMatch, Inc.

Musicmatch has been known to cause problems with Clonedvd, but I don't know about Game Jackal.

Iviaspi (system32\drivers\iviaspi.sys), Version: 1.0.0.0 (1.0.0.0)
Company: InterVideo, Inc.
Product: InterVideo ASPI Shell
Copyright: InterVideo, Inc. 1999-2003. All rights reserved.
Description: InterVideo ASPI Shell
FileVersion: 1, 0, 0, 0
ProductVersion: 1, 0, 0, 0

Typically that's installed by Pinnacle Studio (and possibly Windvd)

James, the developer of Anydvd, says that filter can cause problems: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...23&postcount=9

dvd43llh (System32\DRIVERS\dvd43llh.sys), Version: 3.5.0.0 (3.5.0.0)
Company: RIF
Product: DVD For Free
Copyright: Copyleft © 2002 - 2005 RIF
Description: dvd43llh.sys
FileVersion: 3.5.000
ProductVersion: 3.5.000

dvd43 is completely useless if you own Anydvd, and may cause conflicts with Anydvd

Filter Name: Afc
File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\Afc.sys
File Version: 1, 0, 0, 2 [1.0.0.2]
File Description: Arcsoft(R) ASPI Shell
Product Name: Arcsoft(R) ASPI Shell
Product Version: 1, 0, 0, 2 [1.0.0.2]
Company Name: Arcsoft, Inc.
Copyright: (C) Arcsoft, Inc. 1999-2005. All rights reserved.

Possibly Arcsoft Photo impressions installed that filter.

Filter Name: ASAPIW2k
File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\ASAPIW2k.sys
File Version: 6, 0, 2, 27 [6.0.2.27]
File Description: ASAPI
Product Name: asapi
Product Version: 6, 0, 2, 0 [6.0.2.0]
Company Name: Pinnacle Systems GmbH
Copyright: (c) 1997-2003 by Pinnacle Systems GmbH

Used by Pinnacle Studio 9 by Pinnacle systems or VOB Computersysteme GMBH

Filter Name: clbstor
File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\Drivers\clbstor.sys
File Version: 5.0.3004 [5.0.0.3004]
File Description: Cyberlink Storage Helper Driver (WindowsNT5.x)
Product Name:
Product Version: 5.0.3004 [5.0.0.3004]
Company Name: Cyberlink Co.,Ltd.
Copyright: Copyright(C) Cyberlink Co.,Ltd.

Cyberlink Instantburn packet writing software

AFS2K (system32\drivers\AFS2K.sys), Version: 3.1.21.0 (3.1.21.0)
Company: Oak Technology Inc.
Product: AFS
Copyright: Copyright (C) Oak Technology Inc.
Description: Audio File System
FileVersion: 3.1.21.1103
ProductVersion: 3.1.21.2(1103)
PrivateBuild: 3.1.21.2(1103)
SpecialBuild: Windows 2000/XP free build.

James, the developer of Anydvd, hates this filter. Typically it comes with HP software or as an Oak cd driver, and it may cause conflicts

SiRemFil (system32\DRIVERS\SiRemFil.sys), Version: 1.1.7.0 (1.0.0.0)
Company: Silicon Image, Inc.
Copyright: Copyright (C) 2005-2007 Silicon Image, Inc.
Description: Filter driver for Silicon Image SATALink controllers.
FileVersion: 1, 1, 7, 0
ProductVersion: 1, 0, 0, 0
Comments: Filter driver that can mark drives attached to Silicon Image SATA controllers as removable devices.

Click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...14&postcount=4 to see an example of how removing
SiRemFil fixed a problem.

Anyway, for now those are the biggies off the top of my head.

Concerning PxHlpa64, installing Winamp with burner (sonic/roxio) plugins can cause problems, apparently: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...0&postcount=42
