Default I'm FRUSTRATED!

Fellows, I need your help...

I'm a long-time anydvd user but am stymied.

I do not have a computer issue, I'm using Vista and I am using the latest anydvd.

I had been using PDVD ver 7.3 3109a and happy with older movies. But new rips would not play. So I upgraded to ver 8 and I'm still having playback problems.

I've ripped using anydvd and made ISO's with either IMGBURN or the anydvd image option. Some play, some don't.

I get the Disney coming attractions then no play. I can play most of the documenteries just fine. I can play everything using the file player and clicking directly on a file in the "stream" folder--but no sound--so I know the movie is there.

It seems like it could be a Java issue? Some titles play with absolutely no problem with and without anydvd and other won't play at all.

I'm frustrated! can anyone help?

It might help other people if you list some problematic titles and their regions. Remember that PowerDVD, itself, can have issues. I grudgingly purchased WinDVD9 in order to watch a BD that PowerDVD7 and PowerDVD8 won't play correctly. I reported this to CyberLink a few weeks back and their newest release didn't fix the problem. They've totally blown me off. WinDVD9 plays the disc perfectly.

Anyway, please give more information so we can see if this is an AnyDVD HD issue or a software player issue. Post log files would be good, too.
  1. Ensure AnyDVD is running.
  2. Put the problematic original movie DVD in your burner. Wait for AnyDVD to scan the disc.
  3. Right click the red fox icon on your toolbar.
  4. Select "Create Logfile".
  5. Wait for AnyDVD to create a log file.
  6. A pop-up screen will appear. Take note of the location where AnyDVD created the logfile and the logfile's name. Click "OK".
  7. Go to your "My Documents" folder.
  8. You will see a ZIP file called "AnyDVD_Info_titleofmydisc.zip" (or something similar; see step f).
  9. When replying or posting in the SlySoft forums, look for the icon that looks like (in other words, look for the paperclip after clicking "quote" or when creating a new thread).
  10. If you don't see that paperclip icon, click the "go advanced" button. You should see that icon now. Click the paperclip.
  11. A small pop-up screen should appear (if it doesn't, please ensure your browser is configured to allow pop-ups from the SlySoft forum).
  12. Click the "Browse" button and locate and select the ZIP file you created.
  13. Click "upload".
  14. Close the window. When you submit reply, or submit a new thread, the ZIP file will be attached automatically for us to take a look at.

I'm wondering which one wouldn't play as I've yet to find one that doesn't play in 7.3 4407 once ripped to an ISO

In my case, take Top Gun (BD) Region A and try to play the Danger Zone: The Making of Top Gun bonus feature. It won't play correctly with 7.3.4407, 8.0.2021, or 8.0.2021a. The feature plays but it's absolutely impossible and worthless to sit and watch. The problem occurs with or without AnyDVD HD running. It plays just fine with WinDVD9.

Edit: The main movie plays fine as do the rest of the things I looked at. The reason this is such an issue is because this bonus feature is 2:27:43 in length and absolutely unwatchable. The audio is fine but you can't see the video correctly.
