You do realize WHY there's no response right? Cause the question has been answered to death and the answer is still the same. Nothing has changed since the last time it was asked. Nor the time before that. Nor the time before that. They are working on it. If they spend time answering every time someone asks when/what/why/etc then they'll never get anything done.

@DerPriester1970, you must feel like Nostradamus with your "prediction" and "I told you so", huh?

@all....no one is forcing you to wait for a release of this product. Complaining, trolling, etc are all useless. The product will be released when they feel it's done. Not before that, no matter how much people whine about it. You're free to do so, mind you, but, you're also not going to get an answer so it should hardly be "surprising" when "there is no answer."

You have always been helpful but that’s a little harsh. Maybe? Then just let the thread die or lock it. Maybe just and only post “If they make it, they’ll sell it but they are not responding to any questions or giving any new info.” It takes two to tango. If people are asking the same thing over and over then they also have some culpability. Being one that wants the software I see no reason not to give us a simple update every 4 months of a year or whatever. I guess that would not really change anything but even a sticky: “NEW UPCOMING PRODUT INFO – THERE IS NO INFO!!!!” may be better than nothing. Maybe.

Responding: yes, we are working hard on a clone product for BluRays and it is going to address the tasks the consumer wants for backup needs.

We're moving forward but there is still a lot to be done. Doing it right takes time and when we're ready we'll certainly announce something more concrete.

I think you somewhat misundertood my post. It was harsh, but, also true. I really don't care if people keep posting the same thing over and over again. It's going to be ignored. The posts of "see, I told you you'd get no response!" are pointless, but, I'm not going to prevent people from posting them. That also doesn't stop me from posting my opinion on the subject, either, however.

And I disagree 100% with the idea that a "status update" every few months would do anything to change the situation. There's a simple fact at play here and no amount of "we're working on it" posts will change that. You can either buy the product because it's been released, or, you can't. They're NEVER going to give you a time estimate, so, any "status update" is pointless other than to say "we're working on it" which James and company have said repeatedly in other threads.

At this point, we're at the "can't buy it" stage. Believe me, when the product is released, there will be enough noise on this forum that people won't miss it. LOL Until that happens, we wait. Or use another product if you decide you can't wait any longer. It really is that simple.

Until then, keep posting "when" questions.

EDIT: Thanks, Frank! That does, however, somewhat make my point. ROFL!!!

Well I disagree 110.9% so :P That’s right, nine tenths of a percent better than OJ. No not every few months. Once or twice or three times a year, not even quarterly. People are people, companies are run by people. They all have their reasons/pressures. Don’t want to miss theoretical deadlines or let other companies know what they are up to. Again, not that it would change anything but for some reason I’d feel better if they said: We know there is some pent-up demand for product X. We still have people actively working on product X and at this time we are shooting for a December 2012 launch. We’ll try to give an update later next year.

P.S. I 99% respect your incorrect opinion.

Or you could follow the Directv model, where every year at CES they say the new Directivo is coming soon, then you hear nothing else till the following CES. This has happened at least two years running

You're NEVER going to get them to do that. They have a stated policy of not attempting artificial release time lines. All they're going to say is that they're working on it. And guess what? They do that every few weeks in all kinds of threads. I'm not sure what more people can expect tbh. If we're told that they haven't abandoned plans for the product and are actively working on it, and that they refuse to do even artificial "guestimates" of a time line, then what else would you expect for information? Again, I don't care if people speculate, ask, etc. My stated opinion is that all of that is pointless, but, go ahead if you wish. But if you don't get a response every single time the question's asked, well, you can't honestly be surprised by that. it simply means nothing's changed since the last 20 times it was asked.

As long as they don't give a concrete date, "soon" can mean anything from tomorrow to a decade.
