Unhappy panasonic problems with playing blu ray main movie.

Hi, i have a lot of blu rays that i want to transfer from hard drive to disc. They were ripped with remove region code option ticked.,and i see by some recent posts that these movies will not play in panasonic stand alone blu ray players. I have tried copying the main movie only and this will not play, it results in a ultra slow frame by frame playback with no sound. Yet they play perfect in a pc with power dvd.

Does anyone have clear answers to the exact cause and any solution?

Thanks

Jay

It depends on the film, from what I've read if the film doesn't use java menu's then it should be fine to put back onto disc as is, if it does then you need to copy back the original jar files from the original disc (which will put back region code and bd-live). As to the 'movie only' files I'm not sure as I never do these discs, but I think it'll depend on the movie and what video and audio codecs it uses

Uncheck BD Live and Regioncode in AnydvdHD.
If you have a BD 35 or 55 you have to watch out what discs you are using.

Please check if these movies contain a vc-1 videostream. If yes, you can't remux it to a movie only BD with any freeware tool available today.

Default original jar files.

Thanks for the info, luck i have re discs as I have had multiple burns with no success. Can you advise if the original rip was with any dvd running, are the original Jar files stored in the rip? and if so where.

And to clarify the procedure to obtain main movie only ( as a lot of 50gb blu rays contain main movies less than 25gb), can anyone confirm the following procedure to resolve the panasonic situation.:

1- rip movie with imageburn with any dvd disabled.
2-enable and dvd and use txmuxer to mux out the main movie and soundtrack only to blu ray disc format.
3-re-insert the original jar files to replace the jar files on the main movie created.
4- create iso and burn to disc.

Thanks

Jaywindy

If you want to do a main movie only backup, you don't have to care about the whole java problems. Just put in the original BD. Load the corresponding playlist into tsmuxer and let tsmuxer create the BD structure including the main movie. Thats all.

Cool this does not work for all movies

Hi thanks for that advice, however something must be happening to prevent playback.
I have burnt 50 first dates, journey to the centre of the earth and hellboy2 all main movies and all work fine, however the movies 300 and dragonwars wont play. Both play in ultra slow, frame by frame at a time playback with no sound, its like someone is using still frame advance on the remote. Th bd structure has the jar file but it is empty by using the main movie strip.

It appears that i need these original jar files????
Main movie strip does not get around this issue on some movies with the panasonic player??

I am going to take one of these discs to a local hi fi store tomorrow and trial it on a different brand bd player to see if it just the panasonic doing this.

Thanks

jay

are you making 'movie only' discs? If so then you don't need the jar files, but if they are VC-1 then they'll most likely play back jerky

Exclamation format of blu ray

Hi, One of them- 300 was vc-1, the other dragonwars is h.264. Both played back ultra slow, yet the other blu rays i copied were fine, . I have tried about 3 burns on each of these movies with the same result.

Is this only a issue with panasonic players?

Tanks
