Thumbs down PowerDVD 8 won't play BRs with AnyDVD HD

Hi!

What I experience is the following: many BRs that use BD-Live will not play in PowerDVD 8 when AnyDVD HD is enabled and the option "Disable BD-Live" is selected. PDVD will just show a black screen instead of the "loading..." animation or whatever the disc does at the beginning. So I just can play those discs (ISOs actually) with AnyDVD off (or the BD_Live option off). However, this way I can not remove the region code so PDVD will not play the BRs either.

What is the problem here? Why is AnyDVD not working correctly?

Regards!

What build of PDVD, what build of AnyDVD HD, and what films? I have no problems with playing back any film from disc with both BD-live and 'Remove region code' ticked

Me either, zero problems from day one.

All builds of PDVD8 and the very latest AnyDVD HD (Beta) - I actually experienced this problem with all previous AnyDVDs as well.

I use ISOs from various discs (not my rips). When I encounter the problem the next time, I'll check the status screen of AnyDVD and report what it says.

Regards!

Then where are you getting them from?

Are they ripping them with or without protection? Can't really help if you can't post logfiles as we have no idea what they may have done

Then what you're asking for is hardly moral, much less legal, and I have no idea how your friends created these rips.
