Not sure on that one. Maybe post a message in the VCD forum and see if anyone's run into it.

Why do you want to uninstall VCD? It has nothing to do with exchanging bdphash.bin in AnyDVD's installation folder...?

Just 'Copy/Paste' that BDPHash file overtop of the one already existing in your AnyDVD folder (C/Program Files/Slysoft/Anydvd).

I already copied it over when Samuri first posted about it, and was able to unencrypt Chun Li already.... so that I can make my BD-9 backup of it.

The reason I used VCD was only because I had already ripped to an undecrypted ISO as the means of securing a back-up of my Bluray. So since I had it as an ISO, I wanted to tinker around with VCD, I know that I could just rerip it from scratch, but I like to tinker...
I could just leave VCD installed on my system, however because of this issue, which has not been figured out, I tinker and then merely uninstall it afterwards. But for some reason it freezes up my Add/Remove option capability.....

thus why I'm asking...

Not sure there's any real issue to sort out, it sounds like you have a corruption in the windows installation somewhere. If it was a general issue more people would be having it. As you have a back up of your windows as it is now you could try a clean installation with just windows and all the drivers needed for the board etc and see if it still does the same thing, I'd be surprised if it does

James also felt that it was a mere coincidence, but I'm not so sure to jump to that conclusion... not every PC configuration reacts the same way, thus why many softwares run betas, in hopes of ironing out potential bugs from every configuration imaginable... especially custom rigs like mine.

The whole idea of me having a cloned drive 'AND' an Acronis image backup file is solely for the purpose of not having to reinstall the PainInTheAss XP MCE.... it's beyond stupid, the hoops MS makes you go thru to install that OS. So I have no desire to go thru hours of tedious and sequential updates just to see if it was VCD or not.
The whole idea that VCD adds a storage controller, thus making a hardware configuration change... but that shouldn't change Windows verification files should it??... I've made a few changes including swapping an E6600 to a Q9550, still without this issue that happened when I installed that beta of VCD and rebooted. Why should I need to reload XP MCE just because of installing VCD and it's controller??

Maybe I'm missing something here...
