So will we be seeing a new program soon with the above title?
I'm ready to buy it anyway. CLoneDVD has always been superb so CloneBluRay would be a great adition to the set. AnyDVD HD does a great job in allowing Bluray to be copied but Im yet to find a satifactory program to copy Blu-ray movies to Bd-R disks.. |

With an eye on "doing it right the first time" we are moving along on the Clone product for BD. A firm timetable has not been established.
As for the time being, there are ways to burn your BluRay discs and with a minimum of tools. Please create an image of the BD ("Rip to image"). Then mount this image with the Virtual CloneDrive and play that virtual drive with PowerDVD Ultra. In case you haven't used the Virtual CloneDrive yet: The Virtual CloneDrive can be found here: http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-clonedrive.html You can use the Virtual CloneDrive to emulate a CD/DVD/HD DVD/BD drive out of the image file stored on your hard drive, for example use the Virtual Drive to preview optical media before burning them to a blank. To insert a .dvd file into the Virtual Drive, just go to the Virtual Drive drive letter in the Explorer, right click onto it and choose "Virtual Clone Drive / Load image file". Then choose the location of the .dvd file and press OK. Now the drive letter with the Virtual Drive just behaves like a normal CD/DVD/HD DVD/BD drive. Once installed, you'll find a documentation at Start-All Programs-Elaborate Bytes-Virtual CloneDrive-Help In addition to this: Once the image is mounted on the Virtual CloneDrive and a drive letter with the BD visible on the Windows file explorer, you can copy the (full) BD to a blank with ImgBurn, a free tool: http://www.imgburn.com ImgBurn will "see" the Virtual CloneDrive letter as a BD drive and is able to burn this BD to another BD-R/RE with a Blu-ray writer.

What do you mean by saying that? You didn't do it right, when developing the other earlier released products like CloneDVD Mobile and GameJackal or what?

@ClinicalWaste
Here is one satisfactory method for back-up to BD-R, BD-5, BD-9, BD-RE AnyDVD HD (ripper) BDinfo (identifier) TSMUXER (downsize and build Blu-ray structure) Imgburn (burn to blank disk) ![]() P.S. The only problem you may incur is if your source Blu-ray disk has extreme high end audio, as of today, TSMUXER has problems with this. EXAMPLE movie "21"

No I don't think so, I think he means don't expect it right away because they are going for quality not speed in releasing it.

Thanks actually a good point.
But they have to consider, that this forum and a lot of help of users make the products of slysoft the way they are today. Cheers, BurnerHEAD |

Reading this discussion, I've been thinking about building a PC with a Blu-Ray burner installed, and what everyone here is talking about is helping me decide on how to do it, what to buy, etc.
Like Slysoft, I'd rather do it right, or not at all!! ![]() P.S. Whenever they get around to making a CloneDVD for Blu-Ray, I'll be one of the first to buy a lifetime license if it's available. |

2 quick questions
1. I know it's early days but would you be able to shrink a bluray to a dvd and if so what would the quality be like or could you set the output size so it could be shrunk to dvd or BD-R. I suppose this could be answered with a yes/no answer, will it be the same as cloneDVD2 in functionality? 2. When there's an update for any Slysoft products I chose the option of getting an E-mail so I know to download later which is useful. When there is a CloneBD available I'd also like an E-mail. A customer mailshot would do it. Cheers |

I've encoded H.264 footage taken off a Blu-Ray for a standard DVD (using an MPEG-2 profile for 24p material) , and it looked excellent played through an upconverting DVD player on a 46" 1080p LCD TV... nearly as good as the image quality of the DVD release of the same movie, I'd say. H.264 is an excellent format for transcoding, IMO; whether to lower-bitrate HD or SD-quality, it seems to give very good results.
