Question Problems Ripping Latest Discs

Hi there,

I've been using Any DVD for years now without any trouble but over the past month I've encountered a number of problems ripping discs to the hard drive. The system has not changed and yet Any DVD Ripper now cannot copy many discs.

Any DVD starts to read the discs and gets to 66% of 'TitleSet 1' but then freezes... The error message reads: FileIO 3 VTS_01_0.VOB 1048576 655360

I've also attached the Log file for your reference.

The OS is Windows XP 64 on aquad core HP PC. The DVD drive is an HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH15L

I really hope you can help! I may just be being really thick, or there may be a new protection out that Any DVD can't cope with yet but I thought it was worth asking...
Attached Files
File Type: zip AnyDVD_Info_E_TRANSFORMERS2_D1_EU.zip (1.00 MB, 5 views)

AnyDVD 6.5.1.8 is over a year old.

Please update.

Cool software does not break and .....

Is there a reason why you are using a one-year old version of AnyDVD?

There is not much hope of help until you update to the latest version from the "download" page on slysoft.com.

Otherwise, if all was well and then not well you can bet it's hardware.
That error points to READ problems and software does not "break" like this.

No, Frank. The disc contains a VM command not supported by this old AnyDVD version.

Default Told you I was being dumb!!!

Thanks for that guys,

I wasn't sure whether Any DVD checked for automatic updates and there didn't appear to be a simple 'check for updates' option built into the software...

Just goes to show that there's no substitute for going to the web site and checking yourself... Simple, but not always obvious... Lol

Thanks guys, sorry to have troubled you... I'll update and let you know if this fixes the problem...

Tim

There is, and it is enabled by default.

Default Update

Hey there,

For some reason the software hadn't updated itself, even though it was still set to do so when I checked.

Anyway, latest version downloaded manually from the web site now and installed over the top of the original as an upgrade.

After a reboot all systems go... No more problems... Same disc read without errors!!! Happy days!

Thanks for your patience and advice...
