Default License Key (Incorrect File Extension

I have recently purchased CloneDVD and was sent the email with the license key within it. However, the file extension is not recognised,

*.CloneDVD

When I open the file the PC requests the executable file to open it.

Advise please on how to resolve.

Many Thanks in Advance,

Andy

Is CloneDVD installed and ran for a first time?
Just set the file to open with "RegCloneDVD.exe"

I've just installed CloneDVD, and have checked under the file directory

C:\Program Files\CloneDVD

for the RegCloneDVD.exe but this is not visible in the folder. I have set show all hidden files on Windows Explorer.

I have even re-installed CloneDVD over the top of the existing installation to see if the RegCloneDVD.exe would appear, but no luck

Thanks in Advance.

Andy

Install CloneDVD 2. Then open the e-mail containing the 'key' and save this 'key' to your desktop (it doesn't have to be saved in CloneDVD 2's program files folder), then just double click it. You'll get a confirmation if successful. Finally, restart your computer.

If that method doesn't work, click start>All Programs>Elaborate Bytes>CloneDVD2>Register CloneDVD2. A window will open where you will have to navigate/browse to the location of the key file. Just follow the onscreen prompts. If successful, restart the computer.

Don't forget to save the key (and/or the e-mail containing the key) to an external storage medium such as CD/DVD/USB flash drive/external hard disk. Then delete it from from your computer's hard drive.

Lightbulb If all else fails...

Make sure you have rebooted after installing CloneDVD

1. The keyclonedvd file must be on the desktop

Failure to execute can ONLY mean:

A. you did not install CloneDVD2 and reboot
B. You purchased the wrong product (maybe CloneCD?)

2. You need the admin rights.
Also make sure you have rebooted after installing CloneDVD.
If this is Vista or Windows 7, turn off User Account Control.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...-settings.html

3. Then: start > all programs > elaborate bytes > clonedvd2 > register CloneDVD2

4. Click the large DESKTOP icon to the left, locate the keyclonedvd file.

5. Click it once, then Open and you should get the OK! message.

Note: if your key file is named keyclonecd you ordered the wrong product and this will never work. Open a support ticket and ask for an exchange.

Thanks for your assistance Mike.

Can you advise how I can get it to work on Clone DVD4, as this was the package that I bought the license key for. I can confirm that CloneDVD2 accepted the license key and is working.

Thanks in Advance,

Andy

Clone DVD 4 is a ripoff from the original CloneDVD2 and is NOT developped, maintained or supported by slysoft. Therefor the key cannot work for Clone DVD 4, wich is an inferior product anyway

Do remember that CloneDVD is not developed or maintained by slysoft anyway as it is an Elaborate Bytes Product.

The key will only work on Elaborate Bytes official CloneDVD program.

Check out/download the latest official version here: http://www.elby.ch/products/clone_dvd/download.html
Also available on SlySoft's download page too: http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html
CloneDVD2, including beta releases (when available), can be found stickied on this forum: http://forum.slysoft.com/forumdisplay.php?f=20
