Default WHS or HTPC

I built 2 machines. One is WHS with MyMovies 3 plugin, the other a HTPC. Each has a blu-ray drive. I have 1 copy of AnyDVD HD. Where should I install it, on the WHS or HTPC machine? I'm currently using the trial version to populate the WHS machine. The WHS machine will contain all of my data (pictures, videos, music, movies, etc.). The HTPC will hold my recorded TV programs. I want to use the HTPC as a normal DVD player, where I can just insert a DVD movie and watch it. If I install AnyDVD HD on the HTPC, then any DVD I put into the drive will get copied to the WHS. I might not want to do this all of the time. Or, I can pre-load the movie using the WHS machine. I hope that I am making sense. I'm thinking about installing AnyDVD HD on the WHS machine. Am I right in saying that AnyDVD HD is just for copying and storing CDs and DVDs (WHS machine) and not used for playback (HTPC machine)?

Actually you can install them on both. Just as long as you don't try and use the software at the same time you should be fine. I have it on both for the same reason. When I pop a DVD in my HTPC AnyDVD will scan it and skip all the trailers for me. I can also skip past FBI warnings and such. We only play movies from the HTPC if we don't want to bother putting it on the home server. Most of the time we just put it on the home server first and stream it from that.

You dont want to install Anydvd on WHS. You want it on your client (HTPC) player. There you can also have my movies client where you can play from my movies. Then have the WHS have the WHS edition of my movies to keep the database. You can backup your movies from the client, since you should have the connector for WHS on your client. I do it all the time.
