Curious to those out there ripping and burning how long it takes them.
I have a Dell XPS 9000 with an i7-920; 2 blu ray drives, gobs of disc space; 3 GB DDR3; as much as my 32 bit 7 Pro will handle now ;-0 Thinking of switching to 64 bit but don't really have a reason...when I rip the disc and then burn, THAT is all I have the machine chewing on! Don't have a solid time either but I *believe* it is <5 hrs start to finish no matter what type rip I decide. Giddyup! Kctobyjoe |

I believe, after everything is all said and done, that time is NOT the number one issue.
For me, it is what software programs do I want to use, and what hardware tools do I want to use. I always use Imgburn no matter if it takes 4 minutes to burn a blank disk or 35minutes to burn a blank disk. I have certain non-compression software programs that I use no matter how long the time takes, and certain compression software programs no matter how long the time takes. Same for ripping programs, whatever my end goal is, depends on what ripping program I use, and not the time it take to rip a source disk. If time is a major concern rip, re-encode, and burn overnight while you are sleeping and the time flys by. When you wake-up in the morning there is your back-up disk.
