Hello,
I am running a media center through Windows media Center (Windows 7/Vista). What file formats can you rip DVD's and BluRays to? What ones are compatible with Windows Media Center without 3rd party plugs being put into WMC? Are the rips ready to watch through WMC or do I need to reencode them with something, if so, no biggee, more curious than anything else. Thanks |

Well for one AnyDVD does not rip & convert, it just rips the movie into a blu ray structure or an iso(whichever you choose). The movie is bit for bit the exact same as what is on the disc itself. There are a few pieces of software to use that will convert blu rays to various formats so I would try googling it. They are in the process of coming out with a CloneBD or some such that will shrink blu rays but I'm not sure if it will have converting support in it. I guess you will have to talk to someone more knowledgeable on the subject than me. Good luck.

Thanks, I guess this may be the primary replacement for my aging DVD Decrypter. Will it output to VOB? What else aside from ISO will it output to?

No.

I'd recommend doing a bit of reading through some of the High Definition Software subforum, including the stickied FAQ. |
