Default Can't copy Princess and the Frog

Despite all my best efforts, I am unable to copy this DVD. I am using AnyDVD 6.6.4.2 and Clone DVD2.
Hopefully, I have attached my log file.

Thanks for any help.

Lightbulb Looks bad for this one....

The log data contains some blocks that look like this:

37.64s: read sectors failed, sense 4:3e:2
37.64s: tries 2 retry 1545031 to 1545032
46.17s: read sectors failed, sense 4:3e:2
46.17s: tries 1 retry 1545031 to 1545032
54.72s: read sectors failed, sense 4:3e:2
54.72s: tries 0 retry 1545031 to 1545032
54.72s: read error 1545031 to 1545032, max 3948848, io->read_error 0
WARNING: Problem reading navpack, curSector 808408, absoluteSector 1545031

which normally means this may play and look just fine but contains data errors which Windows can not compensate for with retries. Playing is not reading.

The version of AnyDVD you are using ( 6.6.4.2 ) is up to date. If you are a registered user, I strongly recommend that you update to the latest beta version 6.6.4.4

Code:
SONY DVD RW DRU-840A SS01 JUL12 ,2007
Please ensure you are using the latest firmware for your optical drive. See here.

Rip speeds on DVD and Blu-Ray might be improved by MediaCodeSpeedEdit. Please see RIPLOCK.
If installed (often from Duplex Secure, Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% ), uninstall SPTD, which is the culprit for slow rips.
See here and here.

Code:
Drive (Hardware) Region: 0 (not set!)
Your region code is not set.

With some DVDs and some drives, AnyDVD cannot decrypt CSS unless your drive's region code is set properly.
You must exit AnyDVD when checking.
  1. Right click the fox on your toolbar. Exit AnyDVD.
  2. Click start. Right click on My computer--->select properties.
  3. Click on the Hardware tab--->click the device manager button.
  4. Open the DVD/DROM branch---> right click on your optical drive.
  5. Click properties.
  6. You should have a region tab. From there you can select a region.
  7. Select the region that you're in
  8. Start AnyDVD.

There are read errors which can be caused by a badly pressed disc, dirty disc, damaged disc, problematic filters, driver conflicts, and a slowly dying DVD drive among other things.

As this disc has structural protection, this does not apply here; but for future information see here Download Nero cd-dvd speed. It's a free program. With Anydvd running in the background, select the tab labelled "scandisc". Select the appropriate drive letter, and click "start". If Nero cd-dvd speed reports read errors, your disc is (probably) bad and needs to be exchanged--even if it plays fine (or your optical drive could be slowly dying).SysInfo

Problematic Filter NTIDrvr Typically NTI's Filecd, which is packet writing software installs that filter:
Code:
CDROM Class UpperFilters:
NTIDrvr (system32\DRIVERS\NTIDrvr.sys), Version: 1.0.0.6 (1.0.0.6)
Company: NewTech Infosystems, Inc.
Copyright: Copyright (C) 2002 NewTech Infosystems, Inc.
Description: NTI CD-ROM Filter Driver
FileVersion: 1, 0, 0, 6
ProductVersion: 1, 0, 0, 6
Problematic Filter Afc Possibly Arcsoft Photo impressions installed that filter:
Code:
Afc (system32\drivers\Afc.sys), Version: 1.0.0.2 (1.0.0.2)
Company: Arcsoft, Inc.
Product: Arcsoft(R) ASPI Shell
Copyright: (C) Arcsoft, Inc. 1999-2005. All rights reserved.
Description: Arcsoft(R) ASPI Shell
FileVersion: 1, 0, 0, 2
ProductVersion: 1, 0, 0, 2
Refer here for an list of known problematic filters. Further filter information here

Remove the filter(s):
  1. Create a backup of your registry. Refer here for how to do so.
  2. Download ImgBurn (freeware).
  3. Start ImgBurn and go to Tools > Filter Driver Load Order...
  4. Select "NTIDrvr" & "Afc". Click Remove Selected Filter. Click OK.
  5. Reboot.

Whatever programs installed the filter may no longer work properly.
Reinstall the piece of software that originally installed the filter to get things working again if necessary.
It is not recommended that you do so, however, because the problem will likely happen again at a later time

Most likely it's the disc. IF you get this kind of problem increasingly on more and more DVDs then start suspecting your DVD drive. Software does not "degrade" or "break" - that's hardware.

Thanks all. I'll have a look at it. I've had problem DVDs in the past but was always able to get around them...until this one. BTW, the drive is new.
