I want a CHEAP media streamer for my dad. He already has a Sony blu-ray player and that's fine, but, I'd like to be able to rip his collection of BD's to MKV on his desktop machine and stream them to his 42" LCD in the living room. The media streamer needs to support bitstreaming HD audio and displaying PGS subs in an MKV container. Several of them do that. I just need to find the best/cheapest one that does what he needs.

However, there seems to be some confusion in this regard since according to this post on the official forum, the Live (and possibly other models) might be affected after all. ( not all as you can confirm - WDTV 1 & 2. generation )

IT was mentioned that some had reported that Cinavia infested movies had a problem around 60Hz, I tested this by taking Wolfman DiVX CAM edition, and removed all sound from 59 to 61 Hz, it had some effect on the Cinavia detection.

My PS3 detected Cinavia even faster.

I concur, it is inconceivable that it would be THAT easy to defeat, especially since we already know for certain that Cinavia "lives" in the audio tracks.

That and I converted the damn thing to several different formats, none of which had any chapter info at all, and the PS3 still detected it. Those people are talking out of their @$$.
