Question [Resolved] AnyDVD HD gets to 99% and hangs

Hi
I have ripped over 500 movies successfully using the AnyDVD HD, but the past 4 movies are getting to 99% and then hanging up. (the drive light goes out and it sits there at 99% and does not eject the disc. The movie does not appear in "My Movies" list, but the files are created on my Windows Home Server shares folder.
I am currently running version 6.71.0 of the Any DVD HD
I have tried
- several different movies including one that I had already had in my collection (The Terminal)
- swapped out the IDE DVD drive with a SATA
- Reverted back and tried earlier versions 6.68.3 - 6.70.0.
I have run out of options. I have attached the log file for the last movie I have tried. I have not changed anything on the server before this started happening.
I had to terminate the rip manually so I do not know if the info in the log file will provide an error message or be incomplete.
Please help!
Thanks,
Chris.

Ok, just for your info, if you're ripping DVDs, you want to post in the AnyDVD not the AnyDVD HD section, even if you own AnyDVD HD. Anyways, its not a big deal, if the mods move it, at least you know where to find it.
As for your issue, I'm not entirely positive what is going on. I see you're running Windows Server 2003. Make sure it's updated to the latest service pack. Also, are you using the AnyDVD ripper to rip or are you using a different program with AnyDVD running in the background? The AnyDVD log seemed like there was something weird going on, but I'm not really sure what, so someone else will have to take a look at it.

This is a standard DVD and not a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. Are you actually having this issue with Blu-Ray discs or HD-DVD discs, as well? Are you using the AnyDVD ripper to copy the discs?

Thanks for the heads up on the right place to post. Next time I will know.
I am using the Any DVD ripper and this disc is a DVD as I do not currently have a Bluray reader.
The only program I have in the background is My Movies. I monitor the progress from the Home server console. I have the latest updates installed on the server.
I have automatic updates turned on so my Windows Home server is fully up to date with the latest service packs and patchs. Hopefully someone from tech support will address this issue.

Arrow to all....

A piece of information is missing, including from the sudden "me toos"...

6710 was released on 2 October. Assuming most update pretty quickly it means you've all been running merrily along with 6710 for some weeks now, right?

If this 99% thing did NOT start immediately, and I really mean immediately, after installing 6710 then the problem is somewhere else.

In a given task envelope, either software works or it fails. All things being equal (here that's "rip the disc") and suddenly it stops at 99% but didn't yesterday or whenever, then we need to look somewhere else for a common denominator.

A log zip attachment here from one or more might help.

Default Me Toos

Frank

I don't use the system on a daily basis but I think it is likely that this started from the 6710 update. I have my system set to update automatically so was not aware of when the update actually happened. Also the first few disks that did this I assumed (wrongly!) that they were faulty disks rather than the system had a problem.

"me toos" as you put it would suggest this is not an isolated issue?

Thanks

Euan

Default Sorted!

This problem (or in my case anyway) related to an older version of MyMovies for WHS than the versions of MyMovies clents I was running on PC's connect to WHS.

I upgraded all to the latest version of MyMovies and issue is resolved.

It is not an AnyDVD HD issue.

Cheers

Euan
