Dear Forum,
This is my first post but I have been reading many posts to try and solve my recent problem. I have been using CloneDVD and AnyDVD for some time without problem. I just bought and installed a Pioneer BD-RW BDR-205 for archiving media from my HD camcorder. A day after installing that I went to rip a DVD and found when I placed it in my DVD drive WinXPSP3 said "no disc in drive". My drive at that stage was a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-112D which had served me well for many years. Thinking this IDE drive had died I bought a new one - Pioneer DVR-218L SATA and installed it. Strangely, WinXP gave the same problem message with any disc loaded in this new drive too: " no disc in drive". I thought this couldn't be right so I tried both the DVD drives in an old PC and it turns out they both work fine so a new problem must have arisen recently on my usual PC since my last successful DVD rip. Please note that discs work fine in the BD-RW. I checked these forums knowing that certain software can cause conflicts with Slysoft's. The only software change I had since my last successful DVD rip was an upgrade of Winamp which has Sonic Solutions burning engine so I uninstalled that but no luck. I had PowerDVD previously happily co-existing but I decided to uninstall that too lest it be causing problems. Still, the new Pioneer DVR-218L drive wouldn't recognise any media placed in it. I spent the best part of the week searching the Net for a solution to no avail. I then decided to unload AnyDVD( I was using the latest release version 6.7.1.0) and reboot Windows. Miraculously, the DVD drive will now recognise all media placed in it and play it appropriately. However, as soon as I load AnyDVD again the drive won't recognise any media. I contacted Slysoft support. They sent me a Beta of AnyDVD and got me to generate a logfile. After suggesting I try unloading Daemontools ( which I had already tried and which did not help) they suggested I had a hardware problem with my DVD drive. So I took the DVR-218L drive out of my PC again and into an old PC and retested it and it works fine. Today I downloaded and installed ImgBurn and checked it's logfile for filter drivers that were loading and found there was a residual Sonic Solutions driver on my system so as per another thread I tried deleting that. Unfortunately, the same problem remains - the drive works fine UNTIL I load AnyDVD and then Windows says " no disc in drive" when any media is inserted. If anyone can shed any light on this problem it would be greatly appreciated as it is driving me insane. My next step is to wipe my hard drive and do a full system install and see if that works if nobody can come up with a solution. Many thanks in advance. ![]() I include for your reference the filter driver log from ImgBurn: =============================================== Filter Driver Load Order - ImgBurn v2.5.2.0 =============================================== Upper Device Filter: redbook Upper Class Filter: [None Found] Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: ElbyCDFL Lower Class Filter: AnyDVD Lower Device Filter: imapi Filter Name: redbook File Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRIVERS\redbook.sys File Version: 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-210 ![]() File Description: Redbook Audio Filter Driver Product Name: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System Product Version: 5.1.2600.5512 Company Name: Microsoft Corporation Copyright: © Microsoft Corporation. I installed sonic years back and had to do a system restore to get SlySoft software back working.
Hope this helps your situation. Kep |
