Default Does AnyDVD HD allow me to play 3D Blu-ray in 2D mode?

I have a 3D BD Player but I will buy a new TV maybe in February or March. I don't want to buy Piranha as a 2D disc and then again the 3D version. So what I am wondering is if AnyDVD HD allows me to play Piranha 3D in 2D mode. Afaik the BD does not allow 2D mode natively.

Thanks guys!

Default I hope I have understood it correctly

nothing makes Any, with Any create only 3DBD ISO .
If you the 3D play, is to make the TV able from 3D --> 2D

i think he doesn't mean ripping of 3d-bds, but the live-decryption of anydvd. since the "3d-play-only"-flag on some 3d-discs is just another user-operation-prohibition to annoy customers, anydvd could simply clean this flag-bit while the disc is read. a user asked in another thread if anydvd hd will have this capability in the future, and james answered with a simple "yes".

That would mean having to re-author the disc. There's nothing to stop you just playing back the single file for one eye to play back the movie in 2D. But if the 2D option hasn't been allowed in the menu then you'd need to re-author the menu to allow it

AnyDVD will (try to) do this in a future version.

So if I understand correctly I should be able to play the m2ts file directly in MP-HC for example, right? That would be OK for me.

James, any date when this feature will be implemented?

Afaik it is mandatory for 3D blu-rays if no 3D equipment is detected, it must output a 2D stream. Not 100% sure about that though

No it's not, Clash of the Titans is only 3D but they give a 2D version on a separate disc
