Default CD burner vs DVD burner

I have Sony DW-Q30A DVD burner that I currently use to burn anything. I have access to a Plextor CD burner that I can put in my computer. Would the Plextor be a better option to back up games than the DVD burner? Or is there any difference between the two drives that would matter?

I see no point in using the Plextor drive myself. Just one super write optical drive and its a wrap for me. Of course its your call... BTW, Plextor is way overated!!!

It can't hurt to have a second optical drive. I have two in all of my PC's.
Plextor drives are overrated by those who haven't had one.
