Hello :-)
I'm about to give up on my HTPC. So much problems. But the dollars invested wants me to get the **** thing working :-( My system : Vista 32 ATI 5750 ATI HDMI driver Latest AnydvdHD PowerDVD9 and TMT5 (Never used TMT and HD audio, so I'm not sure if it has ever worked) I'm only playing original discs. No ISO backups. The system has been working well for the past year. With both Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD master ligting up in my Yamaha RX-V2065. The only thing was that I had to click on the config button in PowerDVD9 every time I loaded a disc, so that the sound changed to the HD audio format. I was, as stated above, mostly using PowerDVD9. When an update came along a couple of weeks ago. And with it, the HD audio sound are Gone with the wind.. And now I have to start every Blu-ray media twice before they would load. I can still choose, "Non decoded hi def to external..." and the info says it is playing Master HD, But my receiver will only give me regular DTS. Output is "Compressed data" Dolby True HD is funny enough working. After a lot of searching and tweaking and downloading different HDMI drivers. I just gave up. I hoped that a few updates would help. So I updated from Vista to Win7/32 bit, and to Powerdvd10 mrkII. Dolby trueHD is still working, but DTS HD is still only DTS. But at least now the discs loads at first try :-) Anyone have any clue? Why is DolbyTrueHD working but DTS HD not? The strange thing is that if I change from Hidef to PCM decoded by powerdvd the receiver will display for a half second "DTS high resolution" This happens with TMT too. To be sure that it has not just been my last few discs, I put in Transformers II. I'm sure that one has real HD master. But same result. I'm about to buy an PS3 to use as a Blu-ray player. And use the PC as firewood. ![]() Thanks for reading :-) Erik |

I would NOT do that since PS3 has the Cinavia infection. There are plenty of good Blu-ray hardware players without the Cinavia infection for under $100 and they all play standard definition at 1080P.
I believe SlyFox 1, put a post out, on a Blu-ray player at Costco for $59. that plays everything, that makes me want to go out and get another standalone hardware Blu-ray player from Costco and would be the 5th player. P.S. I would not use the PC as firewood, you will need the PC for ripping, and building, and burning a back-up disk.

Hm, I will google Cinavia and read up what that infection is all about.
I guess it is not a good thing ![]() Erik |

You can read all about it in the AnyDVD HD section. There are two (one VERY long) threads devoted just to it.

Simply put: if you make backup of a disc where the original has cinavia, your backup won't work on the PS3. After about 20minutes usually it will mute the audio and give you a message that this disc (your backup) is not authorized to play on this device (your ps3)
Avoid it at all costs

WOW,
Turned on the HTPC today, and glory. HD-Master is working again ![]() Maybe it was because my AVR was set to output on both HDMI channels? I changed it to only output to one HDMI before I turned on the PC today. I do not dare to re-enact to find out for sure. I have learned to not change anything when this HTPC is working. ![]() Regards, and thanks for your input. Erik |
