When I see a beta version of AnyDVD and install it should I then download and install the final release when it's out? The file name is the same, does that mean there are no changes from the beta to the final release?

there is always a changelog, if you have a beta release it's recommended to install the release version that comes after it, as it may contain additional fixes that arent in the changelog. The opposite is also true? It may be prudent to install beta's as they may contain fixes for new protections that appeared after the latest release

Always update to the newer official/release version when you are using an older beta or official release. During the beta process features may be added and changes are being made. With the official release there may even be tweaking to what was already tested in the previous beta releases as well as tweaking what existed in the previous official releases.
