Default Problem Mounting some ISOs

1. MyMovies for WMC 4.02 Pre Release 5
2. OS: Windows 7 x64 SP1
3. Security software: Microsoft Security Essentials
4. Machine is fully up to date
5. Problem Launching Title from WMC7

Selecting movie from WMC7 => Play Button
Some ISOs are mounted corretly => Movie plays fine
Some ISOs aren't mounted => Example: VCD Mount Error: "Can't mount \\tower\media\filme\bluray\unthinkable [2010]\Unthinkable [2010] [1080p].iso!"
Restart HTPC doesn't help.

1. Content: BD ISO (1:1 Image with AnyDVD* HD
2. Daemon Tool: Virtual Clone Drive 5.4.5.0
3. Totalmedia theater 5 (inklusive aktuelle Patches)

Are there any known Problems maybe concerning Pathnames to VCD? Having issues with specific european letters (ÄÜÖ) within filenames.

Please write English in the English forum, or German in the German forum not a mixture.

You should provide an AnyDVD log from the original disk + a screenshot of the error message.

I've have had a similar problem on some ISO images for quite a long time. Below are some additional cases and some comments.
  • My problem is encountered when shrinking an AnyDVD ISO image using CloneDrive to mount the original, TsMuxeR to shrink it to just the streams I want, and ImgBurn to create a smaller Bluray ISO. Sometimes, the resulting ISO cannot be mounted using CloneDrive though the original AnyDVD ISO could.
  • The image doesn't mount; so player information is irrelevant. You cannot even browse the volume since it does not mount when selected with CloneDrive.
  • Neither European letters nor spaces in the file name are required to duplicate the problem.
  • The problem persists on Windows XP as well as Windows 7.
  • The failing ISO image can be browsed and the movie played using XBMC.
  • mount -o loop of the failing file works fine in Linux.

I doubt the problem lies with AnyDVD or TsMuxeR since other programs can read their output when CloneDrive cannot. Fortunately, Roadini's information made me try other programs to mount the image. Now I know I can keep the failing shrunken images after using XBMC to verify they are good.

For now, to view those few movies CloneDrive can't mount, Roadini can:
  • Use XBMC
  • Install a Samba server (even in a virtual machine) to export the Linux-mounted BluRay as a share for WMC.
  • Boot a live Linux like puppy (128 MB) to extract the ISO contents into a folder and use the folder directly for a player to read.
