I have noticed that in the recent releases, AnyDVD HD creates an AACS folder when ripping.
I thought you guys were renaming this folder to Sly! or something before, because players might use this to indicate a title had been ripped. What are the ramifications of a visible AACS folder? |

Can you post screenshot. I am not home to verify this statement it shouldn't copy or create AACS folder when ripping.

Sounds like your settings aren't set up properly, mine still gives me an 'Any!' folder, but only when ripping to ISO otherwise I don't get that folder copied over at all

Like Adbear point out it should only create ANY! when ripping to ISO. Only time it will create AACS folder is when you create protected ISO.
If in doubt post screenshots. Preferably anydvd setting, ripping of disc and destination folder. You may also want to post log of anydvd with one of the disc which is showing this behavior.

If it does, this is a bug. Please provide all the gory details how to reproduce this, including a logfile from a disc, where this is happening.

A thousand apologies: my original statement was in error.
I mounted the ISO rip again today and it has an ANY! folder, not AACS. What I think may have happened is that I disabled AnyDVD after ripping and mounted the ISO, but probably forgot to remove the Bluray disc from the drive. Then I probably became confused about the drives and thought the original disc was the ISO, hence seeing an AACS folder. File Manager also seems to sometimes retain drive information when a disc is removed and not refreshing, which could have compounded my situation. I really should have performed further confirmation before raising it as a potential issue. There is no problem on the mounted ISO or the original disc with AnyDVD HD running today. |
