Exit AnyDVD, install SetupBDPHash, then rerun AnyDVD.

Let us know the result.
Hi,

Can someone tell me what this software does?
Will this always be needed to be run before playing a problem-rip like The Grey,
or is it just needed until support for that movie is added within a subsequent version of AnyDVDHD?

Many thx!

David

Setupbdphashbin.executive files contain a fix for one or more specific discs and ONLY need to be installed by the user that peer has asked to install. Normal users MUST NOT install setups like that unless asked to fix a problem with said disc. It updates an anydvd file bdphash.bin and only needs to be run once by the user having the problem. If said user then reports back with positive news the fix is included in the next release

There is an old saying in this IT business that still applies:
"If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
so please do not install patches or betas unless YOU are having a problem described in the thread.

Adding to Ch3vr0n & Frank, this fix predates the BDPHash.bin in the last few AnyDVD HD betas (dated June 18--it's on the Information screen in YY-MM-DD format), so running it with the latest betas could actually cause problems with this or other newer discs. As they said, DO NOT install this now; always try the latest beta first.

Looking at it now, however, how is it that a Sony Screen Pass update was distributed in a BDPHash.bin file? That error message is clearly from Screen Pass, not BD+.

Why not?

Do you believe that you will get sex and free beer if you click on a file called "SexAndFreeBeer.exe"?

My point was Screen Pass is a different protection than BD+, so it's unexpected to see a Screen Pass fix in an update file that normally contains only BD+ fixes. (I certainly didn't think it contained hash, much less sex or free beer! )

Decided to do some digging on Sony ScreenPass - its a new form of DRM - read here: http://www.sonydadc.com/en/manage/di...ass-for-video/ - PDF here: http://www.sonydadc.com/fileadmin/us...ges_150dpi.pdf Interestingly, did a search for Sony ScreenPass and got this title "Turn pirates into customers and increase your sales - Sony DADC" in the results - how sickening it is.

Also dug this up this: http://www.trademarkia.com/screen-pass-79104210.html with this interesting part "The USPTO has given the SCREEN PASS trademark serial number of 79104210. The current federal status of this trademark filing is FINAL REFUSAL - MAILED." Further info: http://tarr.uspto.gov/tarr?regser=se...Request+Status or http://tdr.uspto.gov/search.action?sn=79104210
