I just put in Skyfall and my BD drive light blinks for a few minutes and eventually gives up. I know everything is working because I just ripped Flight BluRay right after that with no issues.
Skyfall was released to BD yesterday - so perhaps a new protection? |

Actually it might be the disc. Although it looks perfect it might be bad. I cannot get it to play in any of my bluray players and they all have new firmware.
Back to the movie store! |

Well, guy at movie store says a lot of people are not able to get this disc to work in their BluRay players. I took a new copy home and same exact thing - none of my players will load this thing.
Weird! Anyone else seeing this? |

Bad discs is not a new problem, but so far you are the only one reporting a problem with Skyfall.
So sit back and watch the flood of complaints from others that AnyDVD is the problem as more people get the Skyfall BD. It never fails to happen when there is a bad pressing, especially for a popular title. |

My disc worked. Backed it up 2 days ago. R1 US.

Odd, two discs in a row is a bit strange. I was able to load the disc on my friends Samsung BluRay player but it does not like my PC drive or either of my Popcorn Hour C-200's (these units say "no disc in drive") that have BluRay drives in them (not sure what the make is on the drives). I have ripped 600+ BluRays and never seen this before, let alone two discs in a row.
I don't think this is an issue with AnyDVD now though, I just have a feeling that this particular disc is picky about what drives it will work on...the guy at the Hastings store said they have been getting a lot of returns on this title for the same reason and said "I recommend you get the DVD version instead" - like hell - I can't stand DVD quality anymore!

![]() And if one BD works does not mean that the next one will. I'm sure your drive is just fine and posts later on here indicate a production problem. And yes, it may play in your living room.

Thanks Frank. The follow up posts were actually by me (the original poster) - after a little research and common sense I realized that it was not a SlySoft issue but more likely an issue of this particular disc not working in many 5 1/4" BluRay drives (3 of mine won't play it).

My LG BD670C said "invalid disc" when I loaded the original, but played it when I reloaded the disc. Never had that before (very robust player). Had no problems ripping an image (although it took almost a minute for AnyDvd HD 7.1.5.0 to scan it).
Unfortunately, TMT5 would not play the unprotected image - just a black screen after the 20th Century Fox logo. Ripped an unprotected image, with speedmenu, and that works fine in TMT5. Logfile attached. Last edited by profcolli; 15th February 2013 at 05:11. Reason: Added logfile |

ArcSoft has an upgrade price of only 10.00 bucks, but that won't last forever. You also did not have to RIP an unprotected image, (allot of bother) you could have just used the original disc to test things out. Last edited by Jeff R 1; 15th February 2013 at 13:45. |
