Default Cracks

Is it ok if members report cracks on here so that Slysoft can fix AnyDVD to not work with them? I received a PM from someone with a link to a crack that they were reporting to try to help AnyDVD.

you could always just e-mail details of the crack directly to slysoft maybe?

why not name and shame the person who pm'd you? they cant deny it as you have the pm as proof

We usually don't test cracks, because we don't want to risk the infection of our development machines with trojans.

Thank you for the official response James. I've often considered doing the same but not sure how you guys would take it.

I do a sweep of warez forums every now and then and report links to their respective host (rapidshare etc) for DVD Rebuilder, Ad Muncher, AnyDVD etc. If you'd like I can test the files to make sure they're safe and send them off to you. I have found one keygen for AnyDVD which I haven't seen in a long time. Less warez = better for Slysoft.

The person was trying to help by reporting it.

Personally, I left "telling" back in high school and I find it quite distasteful.
Persons who use cracks will most generally experience problems by using the cracks on their PC. That in itself is quite satisfactory to me.

I think this is a little different than reporting someone for flooding the bathroom out.

Yes that's about as bad as saying I saw someone kill someone else and just turned away. Illegal is illegal but I am sure slysoft knows of all cracks and problems do occur in using them.

Slysoft is well aware of these " cracks" and is doing everything possible to make them useless. People who use this type of program do it at there own risk. I will say no more.
