Default A Mighty Heart R1

OK....I have attempted to use both CLONEDVD and 1-CLICK, (both with ANYDVD)....to back up Angelina Jolie's new flick "A MIGHTY HEART", and both have resulted in coasters.
After the main/top menu appears, and one presses PLAY...the next immediate screen asks the user a choice: to play the movie, or to play the movie with a commentary.
If you leave the menu choice on the screen for 5 secs...the DVD stops and you get the good 'ole Blue screen.

Please see attached ZIP folder....

I look forward to your feedback.

There's nothing interesting on this disc in terms of protection--just RCE and CSS. Nothing special. Practically anything can handle it.

Blue screens of death typically indicate someone is either experiencing some sort of driver conflict or they're experiencing a hardware issue.

1) What blank media are you using? Specify a) brand name b)type (-R, +R, -RW, +RW, RAM, DL, etc.) c)media code, d) capacity/size, e) batch codes/serial codes (often found printed on the inner plastic hub of the blank disc), and f)country (factory information would be great as well, if possible) where the media was made (look on the physical packaging; do not rely on programs to accurately give you this information).

If you don't know how to obtain media codes, you may find the following programs useful:

http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com and http://www.dvdinfopro.com/

2) At what speed are you burning your blank media?

@ Murman,

Perchance are you aware that your Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology (TSSTCORP) TS-L532L DVD Burner has version HP12 Firmware dated 28 December 2004. In short your TS-L532L DVD Burner is using Firmware that is almost 3 years old.

This means that when you are using any new modern Blank DVD Media that has a MID (Manufacture ID and Media Code) Code Manufactured after 28 December 2004 that your TS-L532L DVD Burner will not have the correct write strategies incorporated into the Firmware to effectively and efficiently process this Media correctly. This means any DVD Media whose rated speed is faster than 8x speed or any DL Media will not be processed correctly with your Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology (TSSTCORP) TS-L532L DVD Burner. This is something to seriously consider when you experience Media Burning issues and/or Media Viewing/Playback problems which your two SlySoft Forum postings indicate that you have recently experienced.

It is time to seriously search for new recently released TS-L532L DVD Burner Firmware (which I believe doesn’t exist) or seriously consider obtaining a new modern DVD Burner that the manufacture supports with recent current up to date Firmware.

Regards,
Coaster

Is this a blue screen of death on your computer? What software player and version are you using?
What version is your graphics card driver? And what graphics card are you using?
Have you tried playing the backup in another drive?
Have you tried playing the backup in a standalone dvd player?

Does the original act the same with Anydvd enabled on your computer? How about with Anydvd disabled?

I backed up "A Mighty Heart" using AnyDvd and 1Click. No problem whatsoever. If and when you get this problem fixed and you use 1Click for this title, be sure to include subtitles. In fact I keep subtitles enabled all the time.

Subtitles aren't affecting this issue Murman is having with the menu, but thank you for the advice.

I just want clarification on this "blue screen" (whether it's happening on his computer during playback . . . or whether it's something else).

If it's on the computer, we can pursue a number of possibilities . . .

Anyway, this doesn't appear to be an Anydvd issue at this time.

Yeah, I just added the subtitle information. It was solely a 1Click thing. You're correct, it does not appear to be an Anydvd issue. I had no problem.

I need to clarify...when I said blue screen, I was referring the blue screen on my stand-alone DVD players (JVC and a lesser brand), that I do all my testing on.
In addition, the same DVDs that were burned with both 1-CLICK and CLONEDVD2 (both w/ANYDVD) have the exact same problem on both my internal dvd drive (TS-L532L), and my external Sony (DRU-820A)......

It happens right after you choose play....the next option the user is asked to choose, is to PLAY MOVIE or to PLAY MOVIE with INTRO.
IF you wait a few secs...the movie simply stops.
